Photography with no fuss and no disruption

Le Violon d’Ingres is a Michelin starred restaurant in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. In 2013 they contacted me with a problem. They had closed the restaurant during August for a complete refit of the kitchens and dining room and their web site was now out of date.
After looking at their web site I concluded that the current illustrations and the style of the photographs didn’t match what the web site said. There were no photos showing the local ingredients, the friendly and attentive staff, and especially the new decor and atmosphere.
I suggested I should turn up and spend the whole day photographing everything: The preparation work, the setting up of the dining room, the service, the atmosphere and even portraits of the chefs. I started at 9am and finished at 9pm....

“Simon provided what we wanted when we ourselves didn’t really know exactly what we wanted. Our web site has been transformed and in addition we have many extra photos that we can use on our Facebook page, and hand out to the media. And he did all that with the minimum of fuss. Just him, with no disruption to the running of a busy restaurant.”
